- "This program is produced by a member of the Association of Shareware
- Professionals (ASP). ASP wants to make sure that the shareware
- principle works for you. If you are unable to resolve a shareware
- related problem with an ASP member by contacting the member directly
- ASP may be able to help. The ASP Ombudsman can help you resolve a
- dispute or problem with an ASP member, but does not provide technical
- support for members' products. Please write to the ASP Ombudsman at

- SHAREWARE FACTS
-
- Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software,
- and the copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific
- exceptions as stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished
- programmers, just like commercial authors, and the programs are
- of comparable quality. (In both cases, there are good programs
- and bad ones!) The main difference is in the method of
- distribution. The author specifically grants the right to copy
- and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a
- specific group. For example, some authors require written
- permission before a commercial disk vendor may copy their
- Shareware.
-
- Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You
- should find software that suits your needs and pocketbook,
- whether it's commercial or Shareware. The Shareware system makes
- fitting your needs easier, because you can try before you buy.
- And because the overhead is low, prices are low also. Shareware
- has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
- product, you don't pay for it.
-
- Your registration of a Shareware copy of KOPYDISK is greatly
- appreciated. Registration pays for the past and future development
- of this product. Shareware is user supported software.
-
- THE LEGAL STUFF
-
- USERS OF "KOPYDISK" MUST ACCEPT THIS DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTY:
- "KOPYDISK" IS SUPPLIED AS IS. THE AUTHOR DISCLAIMS ALL
- WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION,
- THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND OF FITNESS FOR ANY PURPOSE.
- THE AUTHOR ASSUMES NO LIABILITY FOR DAMAGES, DIRECT OR CONSE-
- QUENTIAL, WHICH MAY RESULT FROM THE USE OR MISUSE OF "KOPYDISK".
- GOOD DATA PROCESSING PROCEDURE DICTATES THAT ANY PROGRAM BE
- THOROUGHLY TESTED WITH NON-CRITICAL DATA BEFORE RELYING ON IT.
- THE USER MUST ASSUME THE ENTIRE RISK OF USING "KOPYDISK". ANY
- LIABILITY OF THE SELLER WILL BE LIMITED EXCLUSIVELY TO PRODUCT
- REPLACEMENT OR REFUND OF PURCHASE PRICE.
-
- CHOICE OF LAW
-
- THIS STATEMENT SHALL BE CONSTRUED, INTERPRETED, AND GOVERNED BY
- THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS.
-
-
- "KOPYDISK" is a "shareware program" and is provided at no charge
- to the user for evaluation. Feel free to share it with your friends,
- but please do not give it away altered or as part of another system.
- The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
- computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet
- to provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new
- products. If you find this program useful and find that you are using
- "KOPYDISK" and continue to use "KOPYDISK" after a reasonable trial
- period, you must make a registration payment of $11.00 to THE DISK
- FACTORY. The $11.00 registration fee will license one copy for use
- on any one computer at any one time. You must treat this software
- just like a book. An example is that this software may be used by
- any number of people and may be freely moved from one computer
- location to another, so long as there is no possibility of it being
- used at one location while it's being used at another. Just as a
- book cannot be read by two different persons at the same time.
-
- Commercial users of "KOPYDISK" must register and pay for their
- copies of "KOPYDISK" within 30 days of first use or their license
- is withdrawn. Site-License arrangements may be made by con-
- tacting THE DISK FACTORY.
-
- You are encouraged to pass a copy of "KOPYDISK" along to your
- friends for evaluation. Please encourage them to register their
- copy if they find that they can use it.
-
-
- Using KOPYDISK:
-
- The two files needed to run KOPYDISK are: KD.EXE & KDDISK.EXE
- Both file MUST reside in the same directory of you hard drive.
- To start the program type: KD {press ENTER}
- To force KOPYDISK to start in monochrome mode type: KD /M
-
- KOPYDISK is a utility used to make exact copies of floppy disks
- "without having to change disks several times". It writes an image
- file of your floppy disk to your hard drive and then writes this
- image back to another floppy disk (same drive, same format) as many
- times as you wish. When you exit the program the image file is erased.
-
- After starting KOPYDISK you may press the F1 key for help.
-
- When choosing setup there are four choices with combinations of
- VERIFY ON/OFF & SOUND ON/OFF. Choosing any combination of VERIFY OFF
- is the fastest at writing to disk and choosing VERIFY ON is the safest
- but is somewhat slower as it asks DOS to verify all writes to disk.
- KOPYDISK uses an internal verification that is very accurate , so you
- choose the level of protection you need.
-
- The default settings are VERIFY OFF & SOUND OFF.
-
- After starting KOPYDISK you can use the arrow keys to hi-light the
- drive letter that the disk you want to copy is in, A: or B:.
- The following file is created and then erased by KOPYDISK, make sure
- you don't already have a file with this name or it will be erased:
- TEMP.$$$
-
- KOPYDISK must be loaded on and run from a hard drive.
- Requires: 300K, DOS 3.2+, EGA, VGA, or MONO monitor.
-
- If KOPYDISK seems unusually slow to you, check to see if you have a
- disk caching program that is caching your writes to disk. This can
- greatly slow down this program. The solution is to have the caching
- program NOT to delay writes to floppy disks. Check your users manual
- for information on how to set this up.
-
-
- REGISTERING KOPYDISK v1.00:
-
- If you have registered the "TDF" {vendor catalog on a disk} package
- then that registration fee includes use of KOPYDISK.
-
- If you are registering KOPYDISK by itself then:
- Please specify the disk size you need.
- If you don't specify a size I'll send a 5 1/4" disk.
- The latest documentation is always in the file: KOPYDISK.DOC
-
- Please pay by check or money order.
-
- Fee: $10.00
- Illinois residents add: 6.25% state tax $ .63
- Shipping & Handling: $ 2.00
